  1. I decided to choose the book Finding Zasha. I basically chose this book because the cover was cool and that i love books about war. This book had a good start, better than the ones i past read. I am actually hooked and i hope that the book is good all the way throughout. The book started with the war coming to their town and they needed to leave asap or they were gonna be in the middle of everything. I am just to the point that they are getting ready to leave this town before the front-line advances.

So far the book is kinda slow going and not much is happing. The charachters left there undergrounf life in the last bood and there explaining there new life in a settlement above ground and about how they have to adapt to act like we do. So far its kinda intreaging on the things there doing after the sun goes down returning to there normal habbits.

Jeremy lost his parents and has to move away to his uncles, but he does not want to. As he is on his way to his uncles, the train crashes. He was riding by himself and means he did not want to live with his uncle he thought he could run away and be on his own for a little bit. He ran into the woods then encountered a bear and had to get away, no he is on his journey back to where he crash was.

  10. I chose the novel Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte. I didn't know what I wanted to read and I saw it was on the book shelf in the classroom. I recognized the title and decided to give it a try. I thought it would be interesting to read being written almost two-hundred years ago. The book started in the point of view of a England man, Mr. Lockwood, going to visit his landlord Mr. Heathcliff. The Gothic language it is written in made it extremely hard to follow. Along with the constant introduction of new characters and old-fashion names, the beginning of the book was very confusing. I wouldn't say i am hooked but the book is getting a little easier to follow.

You start out with the main character Garrett in the back of a car. Garrett is hand cuffed and the driver is big and moody. It really pulled me in to the book because it was very suspicious. Then you get to the part were Garrett is at the boot camp and the way that rules apply is very interesting. You should give it a read because it is very easy to understand and because you can learn a thing or two in the book Boot Camp.

  35. I chose the book brave new world i read this book in my freshman or sophomore year but didn't really finish or have ambition to finish it, so i took the time to remember what book we read and found it in what used to be ms. Horst room. This book starts off to be really interesting its about a society that makes there own humans and place them in there own group and only focus in what there group involves. The first couple chapters include the DHC or director of hatcheries teaching students all about what the facility and how all the humans are created from embryo to "adult" so far the book has been interesting and a fun red and i cant wait to see what all goes down in the upcoming chapters.

  36. So i am reading Resilience A 911 Story By: Thomas Magee This book is a personal narrative about the experience this guy Thomas had helping clean up ground zero after 911. I chose this book because i went to New York for vacation and we went to the 911 museum and after we went through i found this book and bought it. my book started off extremely interesting there has not yet been a slow moment in my book. It is extremely eye opening to read what all these people went through and what the construction workers all went through cleaning it all up as well. I am hooked to this book because there are moments in there that are just so sad like one part they were torching steel and a body feel on a hot piece of metal and the bodies stomach stuck to the hot piece of metal and they pulled it off and it was like ripping a band aid the bodies guts spilled out of his stomach.

  37. I am reading the book A Dogs Journey by W. Bruce Cameron. I choose this book because I like dogs and the cover reminded me of my dog when she was a puppy. The process i used to find this book is i went to the librarian "what are good books about dogs" an she recommended this book. there really wasn't any specific reasons why i chose this other then the cover and it was recommended. My thoughts about the book are good so far its really interesting. It started off really good and made you start thinking right away and that's what got me hooked.

  38. i am reading thebook the river by gary paulsen. i chose this book because mrs b gave it to me and the cover looked neat. this book is a spinoff of hatchet. the book starts by brian robeson opening his door to 3 men wearing suits. the men asked them if he was the one who survived 45 days in the canadian wilderness after a plane crash. brian said yes. Brian thinks they might be from the press, but the men tell him they are from a government survival school and they want Brian to go back to the wilderness to help them learn how to teach survival. i am somewhat hooked now. i like stuff about outdoors. i think it will be a great book to read.

  39. I am reading the book, A Thousand Acres. I found and chose this book mostly because of the cover. There is a hay bale on it and that made me instantly think of a farm. I personally live on a farm and I love it so much. I then read the back cover and saw that it was even about a farm in Iowa. At that moment, I knew that it was going to be a great novel. I knew that I was going to be able to relate to it as well. As the book starts, they begin talking about how they all know the land and amount if acres that everyone around owns. They also talk about the different jobs that they are doing around and the field work too. Since I live on a farm, I am able to understand what is going on. I think that it would be kind of hard for someone who doesn't know anything about it to understand or even get into it. I hope the rest of the novel is just as good as the beginning.

  45. My book is Captured by Alvin Townley, it is about a pilot who got shot down in North Vietnam and got captured. Jerry knows that he is safe under the Geneva Convention, but he was told otherwise. Since the United States did not declare war they could do what ever they wanted to do to him. I chose this book because it looked interesting. I choose this book by looking at the cover and reading a few lines in the book. I switched books because I did not read a few lines. The first book I got I hated so I got this one. I initially thought this book was better than the last, and now I am hooked because the guy gets shot down in Vietnam.

  46. The book that I chose is "Falling Leaves", it's a biography about Adeline Yen Mah who is the author of the book. Adeline's father is a wealthy man who re-married, when his 1st wife died after 2 weeks of giving birth to Adeline. Jeanne(stepmother) abuses the 4 kids that the husband had with his 1st wife and she manipulates them and her husband. The author also explains some Chinese cultural which is pretty interesting learning about. She also explains the wars and some history going on in China during her years, and how that effected the economy, and it's people. At first I wasn't sure if I wanted to read this but after a few chapters in a was hooked.
